The Council of the European Union, which brings together the member states, has decided to reduce or eliminate tariffs on some agri-food products from Ukraine within the framework of the review of part of the association agreement between the two blocs. The pact includes dairy products, fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, and meat preparations, according to a statement from the Council. "Both the EU and Ukraine will benefit from the elimination of customs duties, which will lead to sustained economic stability, lasting trade relations, and greater integration of Ukraine into the Union," said Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen, whose country holds the presidency of the EU Council this semester.
