Agro-Food Cooperatives of Spain and the agricultural organizations; Asaja, COAG, UPA, and Union of Unions, share their request for a control plan for wild boars and economic compensation measures for the affected livestock farmers within the control radius for African swine fever. This was expressed by the organizations this Friday before entering the meeting with the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food, Luis Planas, to discuss the evolution of African swine fever, which currently maintains 91 municipalities with restrictions following 13 wild boars testing positive. The president of the pork sector of Agro-Food Cooperatives of Spain, Manuel Esteve, has called for coordination and unity between the central administration and the autonomous communities, as "one of the main vectors" that has caused this crisis in the wild boars is "overpopulation."
