The General Administration of Customs of China (GACC) has found quarantine pests in fruit shipments from Vietnam, prompting the Plant Protection Department of Vietnam to request an investigation by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dak Lak province. The Department has asked for a temporary halt to exports to China until corrective measures are taken for first-time violations, and for a temporary suspension and revocation of the violating code for multiple violations. The affected fruits include durian and bananas from Dak Lak, a region with over 22,000 hectares of durian plantations.
