The Hungarian Turkey Association is confident in the value of Hungarian-origin turkeys for consumers during the Christmas period, despite challenges in the sector such as rising input costs and decreasing consumption. The turkey's share of slaughter animal production has decreased significantly since 2002, partly due to lower production volume and the growth of other sectors such as chicken and roast duck. The association acknowledges the high nutritional and biological value of turkey meat, but recognizes the need to address economic challenges and seek opportunities for growth and development within the sector.
