The European Commission updates restrictions to prevent the spread of swine fever in six countries

The European Commission (EC) has modified restrictive measures to prevent the spread of African swine fever in different areas of Germany, Estonia, Italy, Poland, Sweden and Croatia. The Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) published this Wednesday the Commission regulation that updates the rule detailing the special measures for the control of this disease after the detection of several outbreaks. Among the most recent, last November in wild pigs in the Polish region of Zachodniopomorskie, which “represent an increase in the level of risk,” the EU has noted.
