The EU chooses cheap butter from New Zealand and Ukrainian exports are falling

In October 2024, Ukraine continued to reduce the export of dairy products due to the shortage of raw milk and the negative impact of changes in the international market. According to Georgy Kukhaleishvili, an analyst of the Association of Milk Producers, these factors led to a 5% decrease in the total volume of exports of dairy products compared to September, which, however, is still 3% higher than in October last year. According to the State Statistics Service, in October Ukraine exported 9.10 thousand tons of dairy products worth 25.40 million dollars. The main export categories during this period were butter, cheeses, condensed milk and casein. Butter and cheeses accounted for 24% in monetary terms, while condensed milk and casein accounted for 21% and 13%, respectively.
