In 2023, European Union member states significantly increased their grain exports to China, more than doubling the amount to 5.34 million tons, the highest in the last 9 years excluding 2021. The majority of these exports were barley, accounting for 72% of the total, but corn and wheat also saw substantial growth. Additionally, EU exports of oilseed crops and products to China rose by 35% to 800,000 tons, with sunflower meal being the primary product.
