The EU saw declines in imports of soybeans and soybean meal, rapeseed, and palm oil during the season. The declines ranged from 9% to 14%, but rapeseed recorded a collapse of 41%.

Member states of the European Union as a whole have reduced the import of soybeans from the beginning of the current agricultural season (July 11) until December 21 by 14% compared to the same period last season to 6 million tons, according to data from the European Commission. The main suppliers of soybeans to the EU during the season are the USA with 2.74 million tons and Brazil with 2 million tons, while Ukraine and Canada account for much smaller quantities – 599 thousand and 574 thousand tons, respectively. The import of rapeseed into the community during the specified period has fallen by 41% compared to the same period of the 2024-2025 season to 1.72 million tons. Ukraine remains the main supplier with 1.05 million tons. In processed oilseed products, a decrease is noted in soybean meal – by 11% to 8.83 million tons.
