The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Council has approved tariff benefits for Russia, Belarus, and other EEC member states, allowing for duty-free import of a specified volume of potatoes, carrots, and apples from January 1 to July 31, 2025. The benefits include importing up to 150 thousand tons of potatoes, 55 thousand tons of carrots, and 230 thousand tons of apples for Russia, with Belarus receiving quota for duty-free import of up to 5 thousand tons of carrots and 20 thousand tons of apples. This decision aims to ensure market availability of these products by providing an additional supply, particularly given the smaller harvest this year. The details for the import of onions and cabbage have not yet been decided.
