Tridge summary

The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has approved tariff quotas for the import of certain meat products and whey for 2025, maintaining similar sizes to 2024 for most member countries, but with some adjustments for Armenia. The quotas for cattle, pork, and poultry meat, as well as by-products, have been set with some variations for each country, reflecting their production and consumption levels. Russia may potentially cancel beef import quotas in favor of a 27.5% duty in 2025. These quotas are a strategy used by Russia since 2003 to regulate the import of meat products, with the goal of protecting local farmers and providing lower duties for imports within the set limits.
