This became possible thanks to the coordinated cooperation of specialists of the State Production and Consumer Service, the European Food Safety Authority (hereinafter - EFSA) and members of the specialized association. The result of joint efforts was the adoption by the European Commission of regulations (EU) 2022/1309 and 2023/158 on the cancellation of restrictions on the export of planting material of apple trees, plums and cherry plums from Ukraine to EU countries. The resumption of the export of planting material to EU countries, which was temporarily banned in accordance with the 2018/2019 Regulation from December 14, 2019, was possible only after the EFSA carried out a phytosanitary risk analysis regarding quarantine pests of apple and plum.
