According to the European Commission, in the 2025/26 marketing year (from July 1 to December 21) EU countries reduced their imports of soybeans by 14% to 6 million tons compared to the same period last year, of which 2.74 million tons were supplied by the USA, 2 million tons by Brazil, 599 thousand tons by Ukraine, and 574 thousand tons by Canada. Rapeseed imports during this period decreased even more significantly – by 41% to 1.72 million tons, of which Ukraine supplied 1.05 million tons. Regarding processed products, the volume of purchases of soybean meal by EU countries decreased by 11% to 8.83 million tons, of which 4.633 million tons were supplied by Brazil, 3.163 million tons by Argentina. Palm oil imports into the EU decreased by 9% to 1.45 million tons, of which 425 thousand tons were supplied by Indonesia, 403 thousand tons by Malaysia, and 217 thousand tons by Guatemala.
