The European Union registers the new Protected Designation of Origin of “Campo de Calatrava” wines

The Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) published this Wednesday the regulation approving protection for the name Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) of “Campo de Calatrava” wines and its registration in the EU register of Protected Designations of Origin and Protected Geographical Indications, with which this brand is protected by intellectual property rights. The Campo de Calatrava DOP, whose geographical area is made up of 16 municipalities in the province of Ciudad Real (in the southeastern end of the Iberian Massif ), makes number 102 of all Spanish denominations of origin and 21 of those registered in Castilla-La Mancha. The application for registration was presented by the Association for the Promotion of Campo de Calatrava Wine, in November 2021, as indicated by sources from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
