Jalisco, Mexico's second-largest producer of avocados, is experiencing a surge in exports, with shipments going to the United States, Canada, Japan, and various countries in Europe, Asia, and South America. This year, Jalisco's avocado exports are expected to increase by 10% compared to last year. However, the collapse in the price of avocados due to overproduction is negatively affecting producers in Jalisco and other states. Additionally, Jalisco is also a leader in berry production, specifically raspberries, with more than 10,400 hectares dedicated to their cultivation and growing demand in the national and international markets.
