From January to August 2024, Ukraine experienced a significant increase in whey exports, with a volume of 14.5 thousand tons, which is 45% more than the previous year. This surge resulted in a 38.6% increase in revenue, reaching $9.7 million. The main importers of Ukrainian whey were China, Poland, and the Philippines, accounting for 24%, 21.5%, and 10.1% of exports, respectively. Conversely, Ukraine's whey imports decreased by 26.9% to 3.8 thousand tons, leading to a 25% drop in import costs. The countries contributing the most to Ukraine's whey imports were Poland, Sweden, and Germany. However, the rise in exports has also driven up the prices for raw milk in the country.
