In the first half of 2023, Ukraine saw a significant increase in whey exports, with a 54.2% growth compared to the same period last year. However, in terms of monetary value, exports decreased by 5.2%. China, Poland, and Jordan were the top buyers of Ukrainian whey. On the other hand, Ukraine's whey imports increased by 68.2% in the first half of the year, with Poland, Sweden, and Portugal being the top suppliers. It is noted that there is low demand for dairy products from China.
