The article highlights the success of tahini production in Çukurca district, located on the Iraqi border, using traditional sesame cultivation methods. With support from the state and the implementation of the 'Zap Valley' project, agricultural production has seen a significant increase, particularly sesame. The district has transitioned from producing 2.5 tons to 26 tons of sesame, with over 150 farming families receiving 1 million liras for their production. The naturally produced tahini, marketed under the 'Zap' brand, has found a strong market presence in various cities, both locally and internationally. The district is now starting the organic product certification process for Çukurca sesame and is receiving positive feedback for its tahini at fairs in different provinces.
