(Seoul=Yonhap News) Reporter Han Ju-hong = The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs held the first meeting of the 'K-Food Export Planning Team' at the Korea Press Center in Seoul's Jung-gu district on the 4th, discussing regional strategic item selection and plans to expand K-Food exports. The Export Planning Team is a public-private consultative body established in December of last year, and the meeting was attended by 29 people including officials from related ministries and agencies, as well as private sector representatives from the export, content, and logistics industries. During the meeting, discussions were held on the selection of regional strategic items. The strategic items, aimed at expanding exports and diversifying markets, were proposed based on recent export trends and growth potential, with approximately three items per region. In addition, plans to strengthen promotion to overseas consumers by selecting 'K-Food Ambassadors' and utilizing them for promotional activities were discussed. Department-specific plans for promoting K-Food exports were also shared. The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs explained plans for Hallyu-linked marketing and overseas logistics infrastructure construction, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs presented promotional plans through public diplomacy projects, and the Ministry of SMEs and Startups presented plans to support the construction of smart factories in the food manufacturing industry.
