The European Commission (EC) will seek a path to a simpler and balanced framework designed to strengthen the sustainability of European agriculture between 2028 and 2034, presenting its proposal for the future Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) after 2027. The CAP will remain one of the key budgetary priorities of the EU, supporting food production and climate action. It aims to provide farmers with tools to improve their environmental performance, while maintaining the flexibility of member states to adapt measures to national and local conditions, according to the EC's announcement.
