Several years ago, the use of probiotics in animal health has been studied. In the particular case of chicks, for example, the INTA Pergamino experimental station had already evaluated their potential to replace growth-promoting antibiotics (APC), which had been quite demonstrable. Now, researchers from INTA Concepción del Uruguay and the National University of La Plata decided to deepen this line of study and test whether, as in humans, this set of microorganisms helps the intestinal, hepatic, and immunological health of broiler chickens. Just as people are recommended to incorporate probiotics in their breakfast, the same was done with chicks from the farms.
