The Spanish Ministry of Agriculture has allocated nearly 500,000 euros to an innovative project aimed at traceability of extra virgin olive oil from traditional olive groves. This initiative, promoted by an operational group including UPA, Migasa Aceites, and Wealize SL, will use blockchain technology to provide transparency throughout the production process. The public aid of 12.15 million euros is part of the European Recovery Instrument and has been allocated to 23 innovative projects, involving 217 entities. Spain is the second EU country in terms of supported innovative projects, with a total of 124 projects in the agri-food and forestry sector receiving over 62 million euros.
