Spain: The Government of the Canary Islands calls for POSEI aid for fodder crops for animal feed for 225,000 euros

The Government of the Canary Islands calls for aid to producers of certain forage crops intended for animal feed (action III.12) of the Community Program to Support Agricultural Production of the Canary Islands (POSEI), corresponding to the 2024 campaign. This line is financed by the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (EAGF), and has a financial record of 225,000 euros. Canarian producers of wheat, barley, oats, rye, corn, buckwheat, peas, broad beans, lupins, vetch, alfalfa, Sudan grass, ray-grass, tagasaste and other forage crops will be eligible for aid. The Deputy Minister of the Primary Sector, Eduardo García, pointed out that these subsidies have the objective of increasing local production and reducing external dependence on forage to feed livestock, which represents a good part of the expenses of a livestock farm.
