Ukrainian ministries have reached an agreement with sugar producers and confectioners' associations on the price of sugar after parliament rejected a proposal to expand sugar import quota. The head of the parliamentary committee on finance, tax and customs policy, Danilo Hetmantsev, stated that the government should interfere less in pricing and questioned a potential price hike conspiracy. The Antimonopoly Committee will look into the situation, following concerns raised by Ukrainian food producers about the highest sugar prices in Europe.
