The Rzeszów Regional Prosecutor's Office is investigating a grain import fraud involving 17 suspects from Poland, Ukraine, and Estonia. The scandal, which took place during the PiS government, involves 75 companies that imported Ukrainian technical grain in 2022-2023 and falsely sold it as Polish, severely impacting domestic sales. In 2022, nearly 101,000 tons of cereals were imported from Ukraine, with 541 companies importing a total of 4.3 million tons worth PLN 6.2 billion over 16 months. Despite promises, the government has not disclosed the list of importers, citing legal obstacles.
