In the fertile plains of Sarıgöl district of Manisa, the grape harvest continues intensively.
In the grape harvest, which is carried out in an area of 113 thousand decares in the district, the products are cut as fresh grapes for the domestic market and export, while some producers are considering their grapes for drying.
Starting a feverish work, grape producers are cutting grapes in the vineyards on the one hand, and on the other hand, they are continuing the pesticide applications for the grapes under cover. Thus, the grape harvest in Sarıgöl continues until the first week of January in some vineyards.
Fresh grapes collected from Sarıgöl are sent to various provinces of Turkey, and within the scope of exports, they are shipped to many European countries, especially Russia.
During the grape season, agricultural workers ensure their daily earnings, and the activity of the producers in the district continues.
Sarıgöl Chamber of Agriculture President Ali İhsan Ülgen said, "In the Sarıgöl Plain, we never say 'the grapes are over'. We have nine types of table grapes, especially Sultaniye."
