[Korean Farmers' News, Reporter Kim Young-min] As three newly developed grape varieties in South Korea enter the full-scale distribution phase, it is expected that they will alleviate the current over-reliance on Shine Muscat to some extent and broaden consumer choices. The National Institute of Horticultural and Herbal Science announced that the cultivation areas of the newly developed grape varieties 'Coco Ball', 'Shooting Star', and 'Hongju Seedless' are rapidly expanding, primarily in the main production areas. Specifically, 'Hongju Seedless' is being cultivated on approximately 100 hectares, 'Coco Ball' on about 5 hectares, and 'Shooting Star' on around 3 hectares. It is expected that this will help alleviate the current over-reliance on Shine Muscat grape cultivation to some extent.
