In a significant agricultural development, Gen Group Kazakhstan LLP is poised to harvest its inaugural banana crop at a 5.3-hectare greenhouse complex in Kainarbulak, Turkestan region, utilizing Turkish technologies. With 7,400 banana tree seedlings planted last year, the project aims to supply up to 1000 tons of bananas annually to the domestic market, while providing employment for 150 people. This venture is part of Kazakhstan's wider efforts to diversify its agriculture, including the cultivation of exotic fruits like lemons and dates in the Sairam region and promoting the Kazakh apple variety Aport internationally.
