The article reports that the Specialized Council for Pricing of Agricultural Products in Iran, led by the Minister of Jihad Agriculture, has set the guaranteed purchase price for spring and autumn sugar beets. The price per kilo is 1247 Tomans and 1204 Tomans respectively. Due to time constraints, the State Trading Company of Iran has been appointed to manage the purchase of oilseeds, but the guaranteed purchase price has not been approved yet. The Law on Guaranteed Purchase of Agricultural Products, enacted in 1989, requires the government to buy basic agricultural products to support production and prevent waste. The Ministry of Agriculture determines the purchase price, which should never increase at a rate less than the inflation rate. This year, a specialized pricing council has been set up to price the guaranteed purchase of agricultural products.
