The IFPA analyzes consumer trends with executive leaders in Chile

Fresh fruit and vegetable consumption trends, global packaging and access to resources and organizational networks were some of the topics discussed during the Executive Leadership Summit of the International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) held on May 14 in Santiago de Chili. This event brought together 150 Chilean and global supply chain leaders and covered global industry and consumer trends, focus groups on key topics and packaging. Key points of this invitation-only program included: NielsenIQ analysis of consumer purchasing behaviors revealed that global fresh foods moved from sixth to fourth place in global fast-moving consumer goods. Specifically in Chile, supermarkets have capitalized on the digital market with fruits and vegetables as a prominent food group, and there has been steady growth in traditional physical supermarkets.
