In 2023, Ukraine saw a 15% increase in honey exports but an 11% decrease in revenue due to a drop in average export price. The European Union continued to be the primary market, accounting for 92% of purchases. However, the first quarter of 2024 showed positive dynamics with a 93% increase in sales volume and a further decrease in price. The Ukrainian Agricultural Export Association is focusing on expanding honey sales to traditional importers like the USA, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Japan, and the UAE, as there is potential for growth in these markets. There is concern about the possibility of the European Union imposing restrictive measures on Ukrainian honey imports, including the potential for tariff quotas, from June 2024.
