Between January and July of 2024, the Primorsky Territory, part of Russia, saw a significant increase in fish exports to China, totaling 372.738 thousand tons, with 18.010 thousand tons alone in July. The exports consisted mainly of pollock, herring, and crabs. This increase represents a 29.5% rise from the previous month, with the majority of these fish species being exported with INN certificates to ensure legal origin and exportability. Not all aquatic biological resources are subject to IUU certification, but those that are are in accordance with intergovernmental agreements with importing countries like China.
