Turkey has seen a significant increase in its sesame exports, particularly the yellow sesame from the Ula Gökova Region, with earnings rising from $77 million in 2022 to $124.5 million in 2023. The country is targeting $250 million in sesame exports, with Japan and European countries as the main markets due to the high quality of Turkish sesame. In the first two months of 2024, there was a 195% increase in sesame exports, with exports to Japan alone rising by 170%. Other key markets include Poland, Iraq, and Germany.
