The jump in world prices forced Ukraine to increase coffee imports

According to the State Customs Service, in January-August of this year, Ukraine imported coffee in the amount of 31.97 thousand tons worth $172.786 million, Landlord.ua reports. This indicator significantly exceeds the results of the same period in 2023. At that time, Ukraine imported 28,479 thousand tons of coffee worth $137,319 million. Coffee prices have been increasing on the local market since the beginning of the full-scale war. According to experts, due to the increase in the price of this product on world markets, the trend may continue. One of the global factors affecting prices was the weather in Brazil. This country is the largest producer of coffee in the world. It experienced the worst drought in the last 70 years. Fires, frost and drought damaged a fifth of the Arabica coffee acreage.
