The "king" of Vietnamese pepper exports is a foreign enterprise

Source: nld.com.vn According to the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPSA), by the end of February 2024, Vietnam had exported 31,133 tons of pepper of all kinds, bringing in a value of nearly 125 million USD. Compared to the same period last year, export volume decreased by 23.7%, turnover decreased by 2.9%. The average export price of black pepper reached 3,840 USD/ton, white pepper reached 5,459 USD/ton, up 13.9% and 8.1% respectively over the same period in 2023. In terms of volume, in the first 2 months of the year, Nedspice Vietnam (Netherlands) was the leading export enterprise, reaching 3,555 tons, an increase of 44% over the same period; followed by Olam Vietnam (India) with 3,229 tons, an increase of 32%. Vietnamese enterprises in the next 3 positions include: Pearl 2,265 tons, down 33.4%; Phuc Sinh: 1,744 tons, down 31.5% and Lien Thanh: 1,491 tons, up 10.4%.
