The Korea Native Chicken Association (President Moon Jeong-jin) has officially been designated as the nation's first 'Native Chicken Breeder Registration Agency' by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, responsible for preserving the bloodline and scientifically improving domestic native chickens. This designation follows the establishment of the legal basis for native chicken bloodline management through the revision of the 'Livestock Act Enforcement Decree' on September 2, which added 'native chickens' to the list of registered livestock, and the designation of livestock improvement agencies (revision of the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs notice) to efficiently promote native chicken improvement work.
