The European "Legume Generation" Initiative aims to revolutionize the cultivation of legumes to meet the growing demand for plant proteins in Europe. Led by Professor Stig Uggerhøj Andersen, the consortium consists of 32 partners from 16 countries and has secured €7 million in funding. By diversifying agricultural production and creating collaborations between breeders and researchers, the initiative seeks to address the limited investment in legume crops and contribute to a more sustainable and resilient agriculture in Europe.
