The mandatory digital notebook for recording plant health products is postponed until 2027

The Council of Ministers has approved a royal decree that includes the flexibility of deadlines for the introduction of the digital notebook, so that agricultural farms will have until January 1, 2027, to use this tool for recording the use of plant protection products. In a statement, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food has specified that the postponement of the obligation to use the digital notebook is in line with the modification introduced by the European Commission. A regulation from Brussels allows countries to keep records of plant protection products in paper format throughout 2026 and to choose whether or not to postpone until January 1, 2027, the obligation to register the use of plant protection products in electronic format.
