The first half of 2021 saw an overall increase in production of various products within the grain processing industry, with the exception of modified starches. The production of native starches, particularly corn starch, experienced a significant rise due to the operations of companies like 'NewBio' and 'Amilko'. However, wheat and potato starch saw a decrease. The production of fructose and fructose syrups also surged by 52.01%. In the first half of the year, export of deep grain processing products totaled 55,816.53 tons, with a 12.6% increase in wheat gluten exports. However, lysine imports, an essential amino acid, were 19% lower than the previous period. Despite a 25% decrease in exports, imports of modified starches remained relatively stable, with a significant portion being food modifications and feed products.
