The Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation in Egypt, Mr. El-Koseir, has inspected the ministry's pavilion at the African Development Bank Group's annual meetings, commending the progress in developing new varieties of strategic crops. The ministry has seen a significant increase in approved seed production, from 45 thousand tons in 2021 to 96 thousand tons in 2022, with a goal of reaching 100% coverage rate this year for a strategic surplus for export. There has also been a notable increase in the production of oil crop seeds such as sunflower, soybeans, and cotton, with cotton coverage reaching 100% of all annually targeted areas.
