The Ministry of Agriculture in Egypt is working to gain access to markets in 12 foreign countries to export a variety of agricultural products including citrus fruits, grapes, and onions to Asia, North and South America. The process involves sending technical files and conducting field visits. Countries including the United States, Chile, New Zealand, South Korea, the Philippines, Taiwan, Pakistan, Vietnam, Paraguay, Ecuador, Thailand, and Argentina are under negotiation. Additionally, the government has strategies in place to handle the potential impacts of the Russian-Ukrainian war, as Egypt imports wheat from both countries, and has alternative sources. Trade operations with Russia are still ongoing despite the ongoing conflict.
