The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs in China has initiated two nationwide operations to inspect the seed market and operating stores in order to prevent illegal activities and ensure seed safety for spring production. The inspections will focus on various crop seeds and potato seed potatoes, with a particular emphasis on quality control for main production areas and checks for illegal genetically modified seeds. Random inspections will be conducted in key areas, and provinces are required to randomly inspect a minimum of 20 seed stores each. All findings from the inspections will be acted upon, and a seed case complaint and report hotline has been established to strengthen case collection and investigation.
