The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of Spain, in collaboration with the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (IEO), has initiated the 29th edition of the Platuxa research campaign. Conducted from June 12 to July 2 on board the oceanographic vessel Vizconde de Eza, this campaign aims to gather data on the abundance, biomass, and demographic structure of demersal fish species such as flounder, cod, and green halibut in the Northwest Atlantic Fisheries Organization's regulation area. The data will be used to manage fishing resources more effectively. The Vizconde de Eza, one of the most advanced research vessels in the world, has been involved in over 100 research campaigns throughout its history.
