The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs explained that it decided to hold the contest by supporting the budget and raw materials for the "Le Pain Championship" organized by Le Pain Bakery and sponsored by the French Embassy, and by establishing a new "domestic wheat sector."
Flour made from wheat grain combined by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs will be used in the contest.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs plans to operate a domestic wheat promotion booth during the contest period and hold promotional events such as a domestic wheat product tasting session.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs stated, "Until now, there have been criticisms that domestic wheat has low uniformity in protein content, etc., so we have been pushing a pilot project to improve the uniformity of quality" and "Next year, we will expand the wheat blending project to improve uniformity and build a dedicated facility."
