Rice exports from Russia will be resumed when its gross harvest reaches 2 million tons. This was announced by the director of the Department of Plant Growing, Mechanization, Chemicalization, and Plant Protection of the Ministry of Agriculture, Roman Nekrasov, during the Caucasus Investment Forum. "Good export prospects. We understand that as soon as our gross harvest reaches 2 million tons — we are not far from these milestones — our rice exports will be opened," TASS quotes him as saying.
In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture has prepared a draft government resolution to extend the ban on unpeeled rice exports from July 1, 2025, until the end of the year. The document is posted on the portal of draft regulatory legal acts. However, the department is working on the issue of resuming rice exports and may consider it based on the results of the harvest, the deputy head of the ministry, Andrey Razin, said on the sidelines of the Caucasus Investment Forum.
