The Ministry of Agriculture is increasing its financial support for animal husbandry, with a focus on adding more value and providing better living conditions for sheep and goats. A new call for proposals, titled "Animal welfare support in the small ruminant sector", is being implemented with EU co-financing under the new CAP Strategic Plan. This call aims to improve housing, feeding, and hygiene conditions by addressing nail care, parasitic infections, and the use of mineral supplements. Farmers can receive a non-refundable subsidy of EUR 215.18 per animal unit per year for a five-year commitment period, starting in 2025. All information and updates related to the call for applications will be available on the Ministry's thematic website.
