The EU olive oil market froze thanks to the rains, one and a half euros separates farmers and trade

The Italian market successfully raised the price of its extra virgin olives by €9, as reported by ISMEA, while non-EU markets are offering low prices, below 4 euros per kilo, for Spain's industrial-grade olives. This has disrupted the Spanish market, leading Spain to consider offering extra virgin olives at 5 euros per kilo, despite full harvest rates.
