In Ukraine, the peach season has begun, but the price of the fruit this year is "biting." The main reason for the price increase is unfavorable weather conditions, but it is not the only one. The RBK-Ukraine publication writes that, according to the Ukrainian Agribusiness Club (UACB), peaches cost 70-120 hryvnias per kilogram. According to UACB analyst Maksym Hopko, since August, fruits from Greece and Turkey have started to appear in Ukraine, but their price is quite high due to transportation costs. "A decrease in price is expected to be possible only after an increase in supply," explained the expert. The Ukrainian peach harvest suffered due to spring frosts. Only in the Odesa region, in early April, nighttime temperatures dropped to -6°C, which destroyed up to 90% of the crop in some areas.
