In 2024, the Primorsky Territory's Commission for regulating anadromous fish species has allocated 460 tons of chum salmon for industrial fishing, with 27.5 tons reserved for indigenous peoples. Industrial fishing is allowed in the Terneysky district, while indigenous minorities can fish in Terneysky, Olginsky, and Lazovsky districts. The fishing season for chum salmon runs from August 15 to October 10 in Terneysky and from September 21 to October 25 in Olginsky and Lazovsky. The predicted commercial catch for 2024 is significantly higher than previous years, with a 130% increase from 2022 and a 92% increase from 2023. Previous years saw lower actual catches due to adverse weather and hydrological conditions. Currently, the fishing season for pink and masu salmon is ongoing, with industrial catches at 1,778 tons and 18.2 tons, respectively.
