The president of Prograno, Francisco Vidal, celebrates the reduction in withholdings but clarifies that it does not resolve the lack of competitiveness.
A few days ago the government resolved new values for the famous withholdings. For soybeans they went from 26% to 24% and for wheat and barley they dropped from 9.5% to 7.5%. In the case of corn and sorghum they went from 9.5% to 8.5%, and for sunflower from 5.5% to 4.5%. Faced with the mess that was in September the implementation of a temporary reduction to 0%, which seems to have benefited a few exporters, this time the producers have shown greater approval with the latest decrease, even if it is just a few points. But does this reduction change the productive landscape? Formed in 2002, Prograno is an association that represents agricultural producers of the NOA, especially in Salta.
