Pork prices led the surge, increasing by 5.7%, while poultry prices bucked the trend by decreasing 1.6%. This period of price fluctuations, which included a significant 17.3% price jump in February 2023 from the year before, has been particularly pronounced over the past three years. The highest annual meat inflation rates were recorded between April 2022 and March 2023. Bulgaria, Romania, and Croatia experienced the most substantial price increases in February 2024, whereas Czechia, Finland, and Denmark saw price decreases, highlighting the varied impact across the EU.
